True Roman passed away on 14/12/14 at the age of 34.
TRUE ROMAN 1980 (T2:02.2 - $530,732) The most prolific Classic Race winner of all Australasian trotters was last night, 26/11/14, inducted into the Harness Racing Hall of Fame at the SEW Eurodrive Victorian Harness Racing Awards night True Roman, bred by George Aiken's Dominion Bloodstock, educated by the late Ron Pocock at McNiece's Farm at Longlea, and trained for all his career at Sebastian by Graeme Johannesen began his career with Classic Race wins at two and three then raced through to age eleven on the Grand Circuit. True Roman won an Inter Dominion Championship, an Australasian Trotting Championship, two South Australian Trotting Cups, two Dullard Cups, three Chris Howe Cups and four Cochran Cups along the way. He finished an unlucky runner up in a second Inter Dominion Championship after winning both heats. In total, True Roman won 78 races.
